    Webcam replacement options

If the old bullets support SFTP, it's certainly an option, but I'd be surprised. Maybe with the camera model it's possible to check what else it supports, but I wouldn't be surprised if FTP is the only upload method if it's old. In that case, an option would be to spin up your FTP server, but...

Need help figuring out what IP camera brand to go with.

Probably Dahua, or Hikvision if you're okay with a Chinese manufacturer. If you want to spend very little, TP-Link, but then you'll need to figure something out for the DVR...

Gasoline-- how much where YOU are??

    Meanwhile, in Italy... 1,764 € / Liter for regular ($ 7.9 / gallon) and 2,134 € / Liter for diesel ($ 9.5 / gallon)

    Was this a good buy?

I also have to add that over the years I've had several Users with Dahua cameras and they've always been the happiest people I interacted with. Dahua is available here in Italy, but not very common. I'd love to try one someday.

    Was this a good buy?

Oh, sorry, I didn't fully expand. I hate their web interface with passion. It's the streaming that is very reliable even on poor networks.

    Was this a good buy?

Yes! Occasionally I see good deals from other brands, but Hikvision's RTSP implementation always seems the most solid and reliable to me

    Was this a good buy?

Oddly enough, the video does not load for me embedded here or on YT. But I take your word for it, thanks for confirming it! :)

If indeed is Hikvision under the hood, I'd love to know. Thanks!

IR for Nighttime Performance for UniFi Cameras SUCK

Yes, that tracks the experience my Users have reported from Reolink in the last year especially

Onvif camera added to Unifi Protect

Just in case others find this thread, the Hikvision cameras were also serving streams to other devices, so there is no issue with Protect, we were just hitting the maximum number of concurrent streams Hikvisions could serve. Thanks, this was very useful for debugging purposes, I appreciate your...

Onvif camera added to Unifi Protect

Thanks @MakeItRain! It would be interesting if other Hikvision Users test this integration. As far as my personal experience with Hikvision goes, their cameras can serve up to 4 / 5 concurrent streams, so I wouldn't think the fact that Protect is taking 2 for itself, as mentioned by...

Onvif camera added to Unifi Protect

Good morning! I'm helping a person who owns Hikvision cameras and wanted to add them to their Unifi Protect via the recently added Onvif support. I wonder if other Ubiquiti users here have noticed the following issue: - Before the integration in Unifi Protect, the Onvif cameras' RTSP stream...

HUGE RUMOR: Unifi Protect will support ONVIF cameras (like from HIK/Dahua)

That's absolutely great news for a lot of people; kind of surprising, considering their (lonely) push on RTSPs, but very welcome!
