I certainly understand your position! We rely on accessing cameras remotely a lot (through VPN of course). I just moved my doorbell camera to network that has internet access. It found an even more recent firmware update (4662_2508071283) in the Reolink app. -

Can't say with certainty, but I get the same error as well and think it has something to do with the sub stream. When I turn sub stream off, error seems to go away. I did turn sub stream back on and switch HA for this camera only to Intel Beta and can confirm error also goes away. -

Still haven’t read all the way through this thread, but did get the doorbell setup and configured in Blue Iris. RTSP seems to be working just fine and have had no signal drops in 12+ hours of runtime. -
