    Thanks. I read this on redit. They also said over there that when the camera detects motion it sends a signal to BI to register it. I'm testing that out now. I can easily zone out the tree in the camera but I don't see where this is possible in BI.

    I have the gray UI so it must be a S2. I also found the smart IR check box so I guess that answers my question. Thanks EDIT - I updated the firmware using the Smart IR version and now I have a much improved image. Go figure. :)

    Can't get v6 running

    BI 6 has been running perfectly for me since the initial snafu. The fix I posted above came from BI support, it fixed my problem and thus is legit beyond question. And for the record, I'm running BI on Win 11 Enterprise and it's a totally different animal from Home and Pro.

    Thanks. :) Blue Iris support got me straightened out. It seems that I forgot to stop the v5 service before running v6. After stopping it, v6 ran as it should and the 2 Dahua cams started working so all is well. blue Support didn't know what the $9.99 was for either so apparently AI strikes out...
