NVR's - Associated network risks and mitigations?

Great explanation, I really appreciate you taking the time to spell out the details. I know enough to be dangerous, but that's about it. Anyone not within the network security realm is truly limited by "You know what you know" as for myself I just don't know what to search or ask as I just...

NVR's - Associated network risks and mitigations?

Thanks for the reply. These are private networks and agree they don't need to be NDAA compliant it was just a point of reference as we all know there are associated risks. When you say "DO NOT LET YOUR CAMERAS OR NVR TOUCH THE INTERNET" I might be ignorant in asking the question but how will...

NVR's - Associated network risks and mitigations?

We've been using various Lorex/Dahua NVR's and cameras for many years, haven't had any issues that we know of but the risk is always there. The low cost solutions are perfect for our rental properties, We've seen Amcrest products used in several posts and again these look to be rebranded Dahua...

Lorex NVR to fit EmpireTech PTZ

Every other Dahua or similar camera we have installed have not had an IR filter, we have emitters in our barn and they work well.

Lorex NVR to fit EmpireTech PTZ

Not yet, I don't have a good source for 110v in proximity of this camera. I might add one in the future but it's a low priority.

Lorex NVR to fit EmpireTech PTZ

That is the only camera in the area, no IR light. I have used IR emitters with other cameras lacking night vision and those work well in these situations.

Lorex NVR to fit EmpireTech PTZ

This particular camera is by itself at the bottom of our driveway, zero ambient lighting in the vicinity. It does work well when vehicle headlights enter the camera view, but it is only a momentary glimpse of lighting.

Lorex NVR to fit EmpireTech PTZ

Camera works great for daytime viewing, oddly enough it has zero night vision. I thought Starlight meant night vision but apparently not. I believe Starlight improves and supports low light conditions, but is not an actual LED supported night vision, just a guess though. I don't have any...

Lorex NVR to fit EmpireTech PTZ

I already have a Lorex NVR at another property and would prefer to use the Lorex App, if possible. Just comfortable with what I know, not opposed to using an OEM Dahua NVR if that ends up being the solution.

Lorex NVR to fit EmpireTech PTZ

Recently ordered a EmpireTech PTZ2M-4X 1/2.8" CMOS 2MP 4x Starlight 2.8mm–12mm Vari-focal PTZ Camera. I have used other Dahua branded cameras successfully with a Lorex NVR but was told not all Lorex NVR's play nice. Anyone have any suggestions was Lorex NVR will work with these cameras? I...

Web based viewing - Live View

I'm hesitant to post this as I fear there was something I failed to read or maybe I'm just oblivious.... I've read the Dahua/Lorex software will be updated in 2022 but has something changed where it isn't working lately? The Live View I previously used with IE no longer works, I downloaded the...

IPC-T5442TM-AS Can't get it to work with Lorex NVR

"Have you tried using the IE button to login to the camera?" The IE button doesn't connect if the camera doesn't seem to initialize I tried something different and went back to plugging both cameras that won't initialize into the switch and using the ConfigTool, it worked, at least for now...

IPC-T5442TM-AS Can't get it to work with Lorex NVR

Frustrating to say the least.... Still won't initialize.

IPC-T5442TM-AS Can't get it to work with Lorex NVR

Ok, that makes sense since its plugged into the NVR directly. It doesn't show on the lower pane of the Setup pane, when I try to Initialize it I get an error message "The IP address and default are not in the same section!" so there is no way to use the blue IE web browse link. I'm clearly...

IPC-T5442TM-AS Can't get it to work with Lorex NVR

Tries resetting one of the cameras using the manual button on the camera, plugged into NVR and attempted to connect using the 192.168.1.108 and nothing, it doesn't connect?? Any suggestions? *There are no other cameras/devices on the .108 address, I performed an IP scan to be sure
