Hello,
I am a new user and I have now two Dahua NVR systems installed abroad.
One is in Italy, looking after my family home, and one was recently installed in India, looking after my wife's family home.

I am having configuration issues with both and I am no expert, so I would be grateful if you could help on this:
  1. The italy system is a 4 cameras NVR and IP cameras, its a continuously recording system with "dumb" cameras. The issue I have is should I have to see if anybody attempted to enter the area I will have to scroll tru the whole day/week. I would like to have something more "smart" able to distinguish between a man and a bush moving and tagging the recording accordingly. At the moment, as it is, is really not useful. Is there a way to "smarten" this system or should I consider upgrading to a Wizsense box?
  2. The system in india seems to be a wizsense box, as I can see AI IPC HIPC and IPC channels. But I have great issues in configuring it via easy viewer pro. I can change the names of the channels and the video motion mask, but after 2-3 minutes the system reverts to the previous settings and discards my changes. If I activate advanced configuration on the remote settings/video settings, after 2-3 minutes it automatically deactivates. So I can't make any permanent change to the system.
  3. One of the camera has the white led illuminator permanently on, I tried and tried to switch off but I only receive an error. I would like only the IR illuminator to be active.
This happens with both DMSS version 1.9 and easy viewer pro. I use DMSS 1.9 as I did not want to regiter and associate the system to my email. Any suggestion about what that might be?
The NVRs were added using P2P, serial and username/password and they are showing as local device on DMSS and EVP. I do not have the dyn dns active and I have not modified any other option.
Since the NVRs are abroad I am a bit stuck, the India system records continuosly and should be able to use SMD yet I can't configure it permanently.
thanks

You didn't write what NVR and cams models you have.. How old or how low in Dahua eco system they are..
It hard to tell what they can do...

Configuration on cams and NVR should be done on web interface of cams & NVRS, using local connection (or VPN). Some features can be remotely configured by DMSS, but most configuration should be done via camera/NVR interface..

Last year Dahua upgraded cloud system to a new one. You must have newest DMSS and use Dahua cloud account system to have all features.

Video connections over new Dahua cloud (with cloud account) works much better than older p2p system. I use this over dozens NVRs from different countries and now works as it should (much better than one year ago on old p2p system)/

Easy Viewer is old knock off of DMSS and it's not supported / upgraded any more. The only official / supported Dahua mobile app is DMSS (or DMSS HD for tablets)..

Ok sorry for the delay I had to install DMSS and sort the info you wanted me to find:

The italian system NVR model is DHI-NVR5208-4KS2 about 3y old
The india one is DHI-NVR1108HS-S3/H about 1 month old

From DMSS I can also see the cameras installed:
Italy IPC-HFW2431-S-S2 x4 cameras
India H55Y x3 H2-52PGX x3 cameras

Not sure how to deal with this further sorry, both NVR seem not to be smart. And from my google search it seems the system in India is using Hikvision cameras?
I have the feeling that without a VPN I will be unable to configure anything much from DMSS

Could you please recommend the best course of action:
The italian system is almost unusable for alerts as it is set in a garden and continuously detects movements of leaves and such. I want to be able to discriminate between a leaf moving and a human lurking around. What would be the best option? Changing the cameras with ones able to? Or replacing the NVR with a wizsense one?

Also, regarding the India one, as changing the cameras is clearly not feasible from abroad, if I manage to get access to the system via vpn, what would be the setting I need to amend to make it less likely to trigger movement alerts for "small" items?
Thanks

The Italian system - cameras have IVS, NVR supports IVS, you simply need to turn OFF MD and SMD on the camera webGUI itself (NOT the NVR GUI) and configure IVS (tripwire or Intrusion zones). This will all but eliminate your constant false alerts
I can't talk you through setting up IVS it will take too many hours back and forth on a forum. Read up on it here in the forum and in the manual, lots of info

The India system - The NVR looks to be a very, VERY cheap box that can't do much at all.
Again you need to access the actual camera GUI -NOT the NVR GUI, to make your changes same as above.
I don;t know HiK systems so can't help much, but I would look into an HiK NVR thats compatible with the HiK cameras
