    Blue Iris Question

The main modem and router are in a different room. The second router is an extender in the room where my PC is located. The other router with the 192.168.1.xx is the one I am trying to get to work without internet for another camera. The camera actually does show up in the router but B.I does...

    Blue Iris Question

The second pic is the way it is now, however I did notice on that one with the subnet mask 255.255.255.0 is is grayed for some reason but with it 255.255.0.0 it is not.

    Blue Iris Question

This is the best I can do with that. Hope it is ok. Another thing I noticed is in the ipconfig pics when the subnet mask is set to 255.255.255.0 the default gateway is grayed. When it was 255.255.0.0 it was not. All cameras are on their own power supply. Also I get this when pinging both...

    Blue Iris Question

This is mine. I have tried it with both of these settings and I can't even get the camera to connect to that router now.

    Blue Iris Question

I have my router its actually an extender from the main router that's connected to the modem and it is connected to my onboard NIC. I have four cameras connected to that and they work fine. I am trying to connect a TPlink router that I have installed DDWRT firmware in, to an ad on NIC to add one...

    Blue Iris Question

Thank you for the reply. I have had IP4 enabled when I was setting up this. That was just the way it was when I took the screenshot.

    Blue Iris Question

Thank you for the help. I have actually had that configuration and B.I. would not find the camera I had on the second router with that IP.

    Blue Iris Question

Thank you for your help. Those are the IPs you show not the subnets. I do have them on different IPs and BI don't find the second one. I don't see how to change the subnet with my Win. 10. Here is a pic of the only options that I find.

    Blue Iris Question

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to make Blue Iris software monitor two NIC's. I'm wanting to run two routers through two NIC"s to B.I. I have tried it and it will only find one. Thanks for any advice on this.

Tony R, I apologize for that (what is so confusing about that) remark, it's not been a good day for me. Just to be clear it is the same camera and for now at least seems to be working ok since I connected it to the ethernet switch. Again my apologizes.

Mine is not POE. I have switched from a 1amp to a 2amp power supply but made no difference. Thanks for the info though.

    Camera Freezes

It is the same camera, it can run wireless or wired, what is so confusing about that. I certainly do not remember ever saying it had no ethernet port. I might have said it's not POE but you do know they do make cameras with ethernet ports that are not POE. You connect it wired (ethernet) to...

My Timetec drive is a one TB drive and has 850GB free space. I do not use hardware acceleration it is set to no. I don't use any alerts or anything else in B.I. except record. I have it set to record five second videos for all cameras. I review the main camera videos every morning and delete...

Thank you for the info. I have two solid state HDs that I already do use (WD Blue SA510 2.5 500GB & Timetec 30TT253X2-IT ) and a Intel Core i7-4790K 3.60GHz CPU that is the best CPU I can put in my motherboard.( ASUS B85M-E Motherboard bios 3602). Also running (Win. 10x64 with 24GB Ram). I would...

From what I understand the only reason you need internet for a security camera is if you want to view them from anywhere or want alerts and so on. I just need them to record to my hard drive at nighttime and that's it.

    Camera Freezes

It's been connected directly to my router the last few days so I'm sure it could find internet if it needed it. Everything I have been told is security cameras don't need internet. I think I will go ahead and contact the company and see what they have to say. One thing I can say about them is...

    Camera Freezes

That's what I did a few days ago and it has not gone dead after that. I have noticed though after I shut down B.i. I then connect to IP Cam Viewer in the mornings just to be able to view what is going on and it seems like when I shut it down and switch back to B.I. the camera is not there. I...

    Camera Freezes

That's what bugs me. It worked and didn't lose connection when connected to the router, the video would freeze sometimes is what I was asking about from the start and it was suggested to use a NIC switch to solve that and it seemed to do that. But that is when it would go dead for hours and then...

Ok the cable tested good so I don't know what is wrong. It does better wireless than wired except for the video freezing. Could the ethernet cable next to the power cable for only about three feet be a problem? It is unshielded cable. But it works good all night.

    Camera Freezes

Well I haven't got my tester yet but I did switch the camera over to wireless two days ago and it has not gone dead. It does lose connection sometimes for a minute or so I'm sure because of it being wireless. I guess that tells me the camera is ok I'm not sure. I will check the cable when my...

    Camera Freezes

Well it did the same thing with leaving B.I. running. I checked it about 10:30Am and it was dead, came back on around 1:30PM and went dead again around 2PM. I checked the voltage all the way to the camera and it is good. I even replaced it with a 2amp instead of the 1amp 12v power supply to no...

    Camera Freezes

Not sure about that one. I will leave it running tomorrow and see what happens. I did notice today I checked it about 9:30AM and it was dead, checked periodically through the day and it suddenly appeared again about 3PM. I use the program Advanced Port Scanner to check it because if it shows up...

Same old crap works great all night then goes dead during the day. Brand new cat 6 cable and 12.6v from the power supply. It makes absolutely no sense.

    Camera Freezes

Thank you, they are both checked. And here is my watchdog settings I am not familiar with these settings at all . Also when the camera stops responding it is not just with B.I. I use advanced port scanner to find my IPs and it shows up in there as not connected also when it does this.

The IP address is still the same in B.I. All cameras have a static IP. The camera is a Zosi C296 5mp camera. Also now after about 5 or so hours it suddenly shows back up without me doing anything. I can ping it now that it is back up. It seems as though it works great all night but after...
