    Righty ok....i set the 4 rules as i presumed for the best result was to set all 4 rules (each rule having the camera in different positions) - ill have a crack at it now... Thanks for the replies...really.! :) (Yep - im only using the intrustion detection VCA at the moment)

    Well, that was perfect timing...i forgot to post back....! my desktop machine updated itself and then the camera started to work again..... just ran it on my VM and and now also working, so, didnt have to do the above...seems to have sorted itself out...
