    Try to remove the card and format it with your computer directly. I had a similar issue with my NAS at first. But with a "fresh" device it should work.

    I can confirm that. My gmail stopped working one week ago, too. I am now running firmware 5.4 on my 2X42, switched to port 587 and TLS and everything works fine again.

    Are emails still working for you? My gmail setup has problems connecting to the server... Switched to port 587 and TLS and is now running again...

    I upgraded to V5.4.0 and had no changes until I reformatted my drive. It's now up and running again and I will watch if overwriting is working now, too.

    Is this an official Firmware release? I cannot find it on Hikvision's FTP server. Will it work with my DS-2CD2042WD-I? I am currently experiencing problems in storing to a NAS on 5.3.8 build 160126...

    I just updated my DS-2CD2042WD-I with it, so it should work. But now it doesn't even accept my NAS credentials anymore and cannot initialize the storage. So not sure if you should update...
