Blue Iris RTSP Stream Logging Out

Looks like this was an RTSP timeout bug in Blue Iris! They told me it was fixed in 6.0.4.5. I tested it and it's working now in VLC media player.

Blue Iris RTSP Stream Logging Out

I'm not exactly sure what is causing the RTSP stream to stop/drop with VLC media player but for now I'm going to try to report this as a bug to VLC. I'm not sure if it is, but I'm leaning toward it being an issue with VLC. UPDATE: In 'Message' of VLC player, it throws out this error when it...

Blue Iris RTSP Stream Logging Out

What version of Blue Iris? I updated to the latest (6.0.4.4) to see if there was any difference but it still fails. I was using an older version of Blue Iris (5.9) last year when it worked (after reporting it and Blue Iris fixing it) but that was a different camera and computer. So perhaps the...

Blue Iris RTSP Stream Logging Out

Thanks... maybe a bug in VLC media player... I need to find another RTSP stream player to test with.

Blue Iris RTSP Stream Logging Out

Camera seems to stream fine to Blue Iris. Here, try it yourself: rtsp:/test:testtest123@skycam.tetrion.com:81/skycam NOTE: Suppose to be two slashes after rtsp: but the forum keeps changing it. Does it work? And for how long does it stream until it stops?

Blue Iris RTSP Stream Logging Out

And looks like it is broken again. Trying to setup a new system now and it looks like this problem has returned. Opening an RTSP stream in VLC media player works for a few seconds then stops/disconnects. Using Blue Iris 6.0.3.8. Emailed Blue Iris support.

Blue Iris RTSP Stream Logging Out

Same problem here!!! After updating to the latest stable version - 5.9.1.6 (5/24/2024). I am going to try to revert to a previous version. Well, trying to upgrade to the latest version first (5.9.2.3)... let's see if that fixes it... RTSP streaming now... will it hold for over 2 minutes...

    Keep rain off lens? Rain-X?

Wow... that looks interesting but way more than I need and the HOA and/or my neighbors would probably complain about something that big and noticeable anyway.

    Keep rain off lens? Rain-X?

I wonder if one could you use something like that with a Rain-X type product?

    Keep rain off lens? Rain-X?

Thank you. If I knew how to easily and quickly make a custom rain shield then I might try that... but at this point I am not sure how to do that. Are you aware of any YouTube videos or web pages that would help with this? Putting the camera under the overhang didn't work for the way I wanted...

    Keep rain off lens? Rain-X?

Well, I don't want to obstruct any of the camera view. Do you know of a rain shield that would work with a Hikvision DS-2CD2032-I ? I have searched for them but didn't see anything that I thought might work. Maybe there is a silicon one that I can wrap around the camera to provide some extra...

    Keep rain off lens? Rain-X?

Found this: camera and rain!!! Some ideas to try but no real definite answer on whether it's a good idea to use a rain repellent.

    Keep rain off lens? Rain-X?

Yeah... which is why I'm asking. Maybe I should just leave it as it is? I'm hoping there is something safe and effective though.

    Keep rain off lens? Rain-X?

I have a sky/weather cam and when it rains some drops form on the lens and it 'disturbs' the image. What is the best way to keep rain drops off the lens? I don't want anything complicated. Is there something simple like Rain-X I could apply on the lens to prevent water droplets from forming &...

    BlueIris & Youtube Live Stream

That's what I used but it doesn't work at least for me. I get a green streaming status for just a few short seconds then the stream dies... and yes I have audio enabled. Did anyone here actually get it to work?

Blue Iris and Youtube Stream Settings

Anyone got this to work? Cannot set exposure time to less than 1/30 on Hikvision DS-2CD2042WD-I

The long exposure seems to work best at night. Since I am using mine as a sky & weather camera (in day mode so no IR) I think it's worth it using long exposures without WDR... of course I wish WDR was available too. As for documentation, the web interface could have easily made this limitation...

Anyone have a good explanation of this phenomenon?

Thanks all! I figured it was something like that... just wanted to make sure there wasn't actually something wrong with the camera (didn't think there was) and to share the image.

Anyone have a good explanation of this phenomenon?

I have seen other moving objects leave trails like this with the camera. I have not noticed this on my 2032 cameras but I don't have the exposure set so long (and the FPS rate so low) on those because those are actual security cameras whereas with this one it is more of a sky and weather camera...

Anyone have a good explanation of this phenomenon?

My Hikvision 4MP DS-2CD2042WD-I caught this image: http://tetrion.com/skycam/201810250858.jpg Notice the "ghost bird" in the sky. It's pretty cool. But how did this happen? This is a single image grabbed from Blue Iris. Does it have something to do with slow shutter speed (I have shutter speed...

Post a camera still to a URL?

Wow..... I didn't know this was so easy. I came across it reading the documentation when I was trying to learn about live streaming to YouTube. Looks like all I had to do was download wget and use this to fetch the image: wget.exe "http://192.168.X.X:8080/image/skycam?q=90&s=100" -O %origfile%...

Cannot set exposure time to less than 1/30 on Hikvision DS-2CD2042WD-I

I may have discovered the issue after a lot of troubleshooting. It seems that turning on WDR disables the longer exposure times. If you turn off WDR then the longer exposure times become available. Hikvision did a terrible job of conveying this to the user... and it costs me a lot of time to...

Hello, did you ever figure out why you couldn't select a longer exposure time than 1/30 s on your 2042? Thanks! (see https://ipcamtalk.com/threads/cannot-set-exposure-time-to-less-than-1-30-on-hikvision-ds-2cd2042wd-i.27521/ )

Post a camera still to a URL?

At this point I've spent so much time on it and it's working reasonably well that I think I will just wait until Ken (hopefully) adds the feature to run the batch script automatically... unless someone has the exact instructions and scripts needed to what you suggest? I have no idea how to...

Cannot set exposure time to less than 1/30 on Hikvision DS-2CD2042WD-I

My fps is 10 and my minimum selectable shutter speed is still 1/30. Changing fps to 8... still 1/30. Rebooting camera... nope... still 1/30. Changing fps to 2. Still 1/30... so what's going on?

Cannot set exposure time to less than 1/30 on Hikvision DS-2CD2042WD-I

Darn! I have this same question. I just upgraded to a 2042 and am using the camera as a weather cam and the lowest I can choose as well is 1/30s... why???? Did not have this problem with my 2032 camera. This says it should go as low as 1/3...
