Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

That certainly proves the point, you sound knowledgable from a camera lens point of view, which means you likely know the difference between an average zoom compared to a f1.4 prime 35mm or f2.8 400mm etc, totally different ball game. I remember the days when I used to install high end Panasonic...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Since they managed to produce the 4K series with the larger sensors, in relative terms, I do not understand why this could not be a longer term strategy. Assuming the sensors are available from Sony or similar, this could be the real 'Pro' line, imagine a 4K size sensor with improved lens...

Wow, seriously! amazing, you were generous to help him and that is the thanks you get. Ah well, you just can't help some people I guess. Been there, done that!

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Sad truth unfortunately, still the completely wrong approach from Dahua, they could half their range and still have a consumer series and a 'commercial' or installer series. Your neighbour failed to realise just how fortunate he was on this occasion, you can take a horse to water as they...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Would it be fair to say that maybe Dahua should focus on quality over quantity approach, with regards to the range of cameras. This would massively reduce development and associated costs, allow them to bring out quality cameras like the previous 5442 and 4K series, and surely keep their...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

I made it pretty clear the new prices were just pushing it too far, especially considering the whole 54Pro circus, the price increases were the final straw for me. Accountability or lack of is widespread, sadly not just limited to Dahua and some resellers, many other brands large and small...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Knowing what I know now I just would not entertain one again, hence why mine will be leaving soon. The lights are great, speaker and mic also great, daytime footage can also be great, nighttime is terrible no matter colour or IR. Max price should be $175 or less frankly. Certainly this DRAM...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Since I bought three of the Pro model that I will ultimately be selling on now, Dahua or Andy can feel free to send me one of these for testing...in the meantime I will go buy a lottery ticket  - My pay to pray beta testing days are long behind me.

Sad but true, we had no idea Dahua was selling us a lemon when this all started. If only we'd known

    B54PRO-Z4E first impression

That cat is on time! impressive. The Pro looks like it has the potential for more detail than the S3, but whether it is the sensor or the lack of IR, S3 is winning that round no question.

Assuming these were originally supplied by Andy, did you do anything other than full factory reset to allow the official Dahua firmware to install OK. Mine failed and reverted when trying Dahua firmware in the past, granted this was without a factory reset which I know technically you should...

    B54PRO-Z4E first impression

Thank you for posting these, the effort is appreciated. Now to my eyes the Pro look better at night with the truck footage? quite a lot better, sharper, more focused. I might be tempted to try this firmware, if I can install it, historically I have not had any luck with official Dahua firmware...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

You might have just come up with the new target Dahua tag line.... "No Special Detection Mechanisms, just Good Night and Day image quality!" - amen to that I say, not too much for one to ask. Currently for some 'Pro' cameras, the situation is somewhat different.... shortly after the break...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Reolink on this occasion are likely a step up from the T54Pro  (that is a partial joke as a T54Pro owner...sadly) What annoys me more than anything is that nobody takes ownership, neither the manufacturers or the resellers, sometimes there may be exceptions of course, very rarely though.

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

I am aware, the real question is, who will Dahua listen to. End of the day they are all Dahua cameras, OEM or otherwise, sadly customer service these days is lacking on all fronts. Buyer beware as they say.

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

If these units do use the Omnivision sensor and perform similarly to the S3, it raises a fair question: will Dahua show the common courtesy of offering them to existing T54Pro owners as a goodwill gesture, given the costs those owners incurred while effectively testing a production prototype?

That is very odd, test first in browser, then move to Blue Iris once you get the OK result shown in browser window. Also confirm that ONVIF triggers are sending to Blue Iris, this will give some additional confirmation on login command/user etc.
