    1/1.2" 8MP Varifocal

Yeah, go ahead and buy Ubiquiti like Arjun suggested.

    1/1.2" 8MP Varifocal

The only problem is that their cameras, even top of the line, is just garbage, comparing to Dahua https://ipcamtalk.com/threads/a-healthy-competitor-g6-pro-turret.84296/

    1/1.2" 8MP Varifocal

T54PRO is a new camera, it's not as good as 5442-S3, but still much better than anything else what is not EOL-ed.

    1/1.2" 8MP Varifocal

  5. M

    1/1.2" 8MP Varifocal

But it's definetly much worse than T54PRO at this moment... and I don't think G6 Pro ever going to work better. Its sensor is even worse than T54PRO at low light conditions.

    1/1.2" 8MP Varifocal

So, you are advising people to buy even worse Ubiquiti garbage for the price 2-3 times higher, just because it's not from Dahua? :)
  7. M

    1/1.2" 8MP Varifocal

Are you saying that Ubuquiti cameras are better than T54PRO?

    1/1.2" 8MP Varifocal

    Have you tried Ubiquiti cameras?

    1/1.2" 8MP Varifocal

I don't get it, why Ubiquiti and not T54PRO?

Is Blue Iris worth pursuing for my situation, or am I pushing it beyond its practical comfort zone?

Tbh, I would just setup a small test PC having just BI running on it with the same configuration, to check how it works, before making any conclusions... IMHO, the fewer layers and moving parts you have, the better...

    Solar Wifi Camera

Yes, and a big solar panel or two, but minus inverter, just a charge controller ... Sometimes I'm thinking about building something like that myself, but at the end of the day just having network cables with POE is much simpler and better in general.

Is Blue Iris worth pursuing for my situation, or am I pushing it beyond its practical comfort zone?

To me, it feels like there is some kind of hidden issue in your system I'm running Blue Iris with 36 cameras, all from Andy, all are using ONVIF events, some are using BI motion detection+AI. Cameras are spread around 20 acres property with Ubiquiti switches hanging on the trees + bunch of POE...

It looks like better ONVIF support is coming to UniFi Protect

Protect supports line crossing for Unifi cameras. I haven't tried it myself, but apparently latest version of Protect only supports ONVIF events for Motion Detection, and not Line Crossing, etc. It looks like someone from this forum should look into this, the "normal" Unifi users are not good in...

It looks like better ONVIF support is coming to UniFi Protect

I think I'm going to wait until Protect will be able to handle IVS events.

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Guys, you are just a bunch of whiners. Dahua is, basically, a market leader, there are no real alternatives for their cameras. So, logically, they want to use this position to make more money.

It looks like better ONVIF support is coming to UniFi Protect

ONVIF Improvements: Easier migration at scale Motion/analytics support coming Better than prior RTSP-only integrations Also AI Port X: 20+ streams per port

    2025 New Arrivals From EmpireTech

There is no "elsewhere", unfortunately... Dahua is still the best choice, at this moment, in my opinion...

An Unfair Comparison between Extremely Old Hikvision cameras and New Ubiquiti Cameras

But, even the latest crapshoot from Dahua is much better then any of the new Ubiquiti cameras.

    UNIFI—The Best Option...?

Check this thread out https://ipcamtalk.com/threads/a-healthy-competitor-g6-pro-turret.84296/ . Even 1/1.2 G6 Pro looks worse then latest Dahua cameras. Ubiquiti UX might be better for some people, but video quality, especially in low light conditions is just bad.

    2025 New Arrivals From EmpireTech

54PRO is much better than Reolink, trust me... :) It only looks bad when you compare it to 54IR, comparing it to all other cameras on the market is a differnt story. I can definetly say, for example, that 54PRO is much better than G6 Pro Turret.

    2025 New Arrivals From EmpireTech

Well, I also meant the form factor, 54PRO is bigger then 54IR, and I'm fine with that, but, yeah... :)

    2025 New Arrivals From EmpireTech

I think there are use-cases for both of them. I'm currently using 54IR and 54PRO, it really depends on your requirements. Not everyone who is using the cameras report crimes to police. In many cases simple observation and early warning about some movements us more than enough. For example, in...

    2025 New Arrivals From EmpireTech

BTW, G6 Pro Turret is huge, I think any varifocal 1/1.2 gonna be about the same size, it means it gonna be new mounting design :( TBH, I would rather had 54PRO with 5442-S3 sensor.

    A Healthy Competitor? - G6 Pro Turret

Dahua cameras are spary painted, G6 Pro covered with camo duct tape. I don't like to have my cameras to be visible too much :)

Do you all agree with this statement regarding different focal lengths?

I replied you in that thread because it's defintely not about focal lengths anymore :)

Do you all agree with this statement regarding different focal lengths?

  27. M

Do you all agree with this statement regarding different focal lengths?

I think this is because the sensor is really bad in low/IR light conditions. Once you get your G6 Pro, you will see it yourself.
