PoE cable routing in Australian homes

Two different people posting similar information with the same guy in the pictures. It look suspicious. https://www.ipcamtalk.com/threads/recommended-mounting-height-for-security-cameras.85654/unread

PoE cable routing in Australian homes

Yea, you will use one of those two standards because they're the only two... I found similar information. I believe most patch cables are T568B, so it would likely be best to use that standard over the older T568A, especially for new installs.

Is T568B not the standard ethernet wiring order used in Australia?

Mail theft revisited 2020 long version ...for those who may not know

I had this issue with a couple of my cameras. My flag's shadow would constantly trigger a few front cameras so they were essentially just recording 100% main stream instead of sub+trigger.

Looking for ideas on monitoring driveway.

Night coverage is possible with the right camera. This area is very, very low light and a B54IR-Z4E is able to capture people 65' away without issue.

Thoughts/opinions/advice on outdoor enclosure for power/ethernet

I was mostly insistent on that position because I wanted to permanently run power and ethernet. If I am not going to do that, then I can put it anywhere there works/makes sense. Not running conduit is waaay easier than running it. Especially since I would need to go under the house walk, the...

Thoughts/opinions/advice on outdoor enclosure for power/ethernet

Most people don't understand the difference between easement and public right-of-way. Also, you can't be told no if you don't ask... But, you are correct, that is not my property. I did get a permit to place irrigation sprinklers there, but that was several years ago. My property stops just on...

Mail theft revisited 2020 long version ...for those who may not know

Oh yea, I forgot resolution. That is a factor as well. Storage span can also vary with trigger frequency. I get a lot more triggers from cameras covering the yard during the summer than in the winter, so I will likely lose some days depending on how many kids are running around.

Continuous vs Continous + Trigger is one way. Larger storage is also a factor. I have some cameras record Continuous Main Stream and others that record Continuous in Sub and then switch to Main when triggered. Across my 40? cameras and 58TB of storage I have about 6 weeks of video I can go back...

Thoughts/opinions/advice on outdoor enclosure for power/ethernet

I am looking to get into projection mapping and for this I would like to run power and ethernet to near my mailbox for where I plan to place the projector enclosure. I am building and installing an enclosure similar to this one. It would be removable and only require a single extension cord and...

Merged/Spanned Disks in BlueIris - Possible?

Merged/Spanned Disks in BlueIris - Possible?

I was more worried about losing footage due to time deletion than a drive crapping out. I originally had three 8TB drives in a RAID 5 set up, which allowed for 16TB of storage. I now have a JBOD of 58TB that, depending on a camera's schedule and triggers, allows me to hold over a month on a...
