Hi

The camera and nvr are hikvision. However i have three camera plugged in. camera 1 and 3 both work absolutely fine.
However camera two won't show a picture on the screen where you can see all the camera at once. however if I go to the add ip camera screen and click on the live view button I get a picture.
IDoes anyone have an idea of what I have done wrong?

Sounds like substream is off on that camera (the multi-camera view shows substreams).

Other scenario is an underpowered NVR and can't show all the cameras at once.

Contrary to popular believe, just because an NVR is rated for X channels doesn't mean it can actually work with X number of cameras depending on the quality of the NVR and the setup of the cams (resolution, bitrate, FPS). One way to test if this is it is temp drop the resolution to the lowest resolution the camera allows (may be D1 or 2MP) and drop bitrate to 512 and FPS to 5 - if all the cameras then show, then you know it is underpowered NVR.

hahaha @wittaj you're the man. The sub stream was switched off lol. I didn't know you could do that. I must of switched it off dicking around.
Just out of curiosity how do I ensure an nvr is powerful enough to show all the channels at once? Is there a particular rating you can look at?

It is the bandwidth of the NVR. The cheap ones are rated at 40Mbps and thr better ones are over 300Mbps
