I thought I'd summarize Ken's responses to some questions about the use of zone-identifiers with AI objects.
For example:
The Help PDF discusses this usage in the Camera settings > AI > Configure tab: (page 103, 6.0.6.7)
--> 'To confirm' and 'To cancel' comma-delimited list fields.
However, it does not discuss this usage in Action Conditions dialogs (page 152). This is what Ken confirmed today (#1 & #2 below)
--> 'Required objects' and 'Skip with' comma-delimited list fields
Per Ken:
I posted about it then (in March 2023), covering items #3 and #4 above. Astute readers may note that my original post did not honor rule #2 above. And that feedback from Ken then was that multiple zones were AND'd.
This very handy feature remains inadequately explained in the Help PDF.
For example:
- person:A ... object 'person' must appear in Motion Zone A
- person:AB ... object 'person' must appear in Zones A or B
- person:80A ... object 'person' must appear with 80% confidence in Zone A
- person:80AB ... object 'person' must appear with 80% confidence in both Zones A or B

Per Ken:
- "Looking at the code, the object zones are definitely taken into consideration before matching with a label on the Action lists."
- "When using both zone-identifiers and confidence levels, the confidence number must come first"
- "Multiple zones are OR'd or Any -- i.e., 'personAB', requires that the AI object appear in either A OR B."
- "Specifying zones on the Camera settings > AI > Configure tab will limit ALL triggers, which may not be desirable if you want to trigger on all zones, but execute 'On alert' actions for only some zones."
