Sadly the 54IR (5442 series) is End of Line.

So, what are people going to move to once Empiretech is no longer selling cameras?

We don't know yet. The new line isn't there yet and we hope for improvements before the last camera is sold. Many have bought a few extra in the event a camera fails. That is how well thought of the 54IR series is.

One thing that may sway my decision is availability. I have a bunch of older Dahua cams that I will be replacing a little at a time. Will Andy still be getting cameras in and selling them, or is it just selling out of current stock? I don’t want to be stuck halfway through a switch, and not be able to order more. I don’t really have that concern with Ubiquiti.

At this time, if time is a factor, I have to reluctantly suggest going with Ubiquiti | RIP 5442 Series

You can still find some 5442 cameras on retail websites. I recently bought a new 5442-ZE for $163.01.

Because the 54pro camera is junk so far. The only good thing about the cameras is the bright spotlight and the IR lights.

I know the question was directed to @Chokolinho , but in my opinion, there really is no other alternative available unless you want to spend an exuberant amount of money on professional-grade IP cameras
On this forum, we like to follow a proven track-record, as well as what is considered the most secure option. I still favor the 5442 series over any Ubiquiti camera out there, but Ubiquiti has been catching up - they even have Edge AI cameras which run independently from their NVR systems - too bad they are prohibitively expensive. Options are bleak, but UniFi Protect software seems to be working better now than it has in previous years.

So, you are advising people to buy even worse Ubiquiti garbage for the price 2-3 times higher, just because it's not from Dahua?

I can’t recommend anything else at this time. The G6 Pro is not bad but settings prevent it from unlocking its full potential and therefore nighttime performance may suffer

But it's definetly much worse than T54PRO at this moment... and I don't think G6 Pro ever going to work better. Its sensor is even worse than T54PRO at low light conditions.

T54PRO is a new camera, it's not as good as 5442-S3, but still much better than anything else what is not EOL-ed.

I don't own any T54PRO cameras but was very interested in all the reviews from guys who bought it. I got the impression that it doesn't sucks if you never own 5442 and compared to it side by side like many of the members here can. But it's a disappointing product for all the old 5442 camera users who were looking for upgrade but instead gets less performance from the supposedly next line of cameras. That's why I never bought the T54PRO after learning the faults from the review threads here by all the guys.

But if you don't own any 5442 and just bought the T54PRO and compared to other brands like Reolink and wifi cameras like rings etc, you might find T54PRO to be very impressive and indeed an upgrade over these cameras.

If you are not already in the UniFi Protect ecosystem, Luminys may be another option, but there is one model that gets close to the 5442 - discussed on another thread
